I found this guy's explanation of global warming to be particularly simple yet very insightful. He summed it up in just a few words.
"What a coincidence that the solutions for "global warming" are the exact same things the left has been demanding for years - way before climate change was even an issue. Punitive taxation. The redistribution of wealth. The abolition of private property. The destruction of capitalism. Thank goodness global warming finally came along to give the left a "scientific" reason to call for worldwide socialism/communism."

One of my favorite statements from the article about environmentalists is:
"Like their (communist) predecessors, they will be certain that they have the right to sacrifice man and his freedom to make their idea reality. In the past, it was in the name of the Marxists or of the proletariat - this time, in the name of the planet."
And I think this is someone who knows what they are talking about when it comes to communism.
